Portfolios:

  • Client investment is made directly into a selection of individual funds.
  • The risk profile may change over time, as the portfolios are not automatically rebalanced.

Individual funds:

  • Bespoke portfolios created to match your individual objectives and risk profile.
  • Each is managed according to a specific objective, region or asset class, including multi-asset.
  • Such funds can be run by a single manager or multiple managers.

What is does:
A stocks and shares Individual Savings Account (ISA) provides a tax-efficient way for investing and growing your funds for the future.

Key benefit:
All growth within the ISA tax wrapper and withdrawals are free of UK Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax

Best for:
Medium to long-term investments

Current Allowance:
ISA holders can invest up to £20,000 per year 

What is does:
Essentially and ISA set up on behalf of a minor (under 18 years old) provides a tax-efficient way for investing and growing your funds for your childs future.

Key benefit:
All growth within the ISA tax wrapper and withdrawals are free of UK Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax

Key benefit:
When the beneficiary turns 18 the JISA becomes a standard ISA and the holder will have full legal rights to the funds in the account.

Best for:
Medium to long-term investments

Current Allowance:
Parents can invest up to £9,000 per year 

What is does:
unit trust is an investment fund where your money is pooled together with other investors and managed by a professional fund manager. You buy “units” in the fund, and the value of those units rises or falls based on the performance of the underlying investments.

Key benefit:
Parents and grandparents may also use them to invest for children/grandchildren although advice in relation to the tax implications will be key.

Best for:
Medium to long-term growth

Current Allowance:
Outside of a tax wrapper (ISA/pension) there is no direct allowance. However unit trusts can be used to make use of your  Capital Gains Exemption (currently £3,000) and your dividend allowance (currently £500) 

What is does:
Investment bonds can provide you with tax deferred regular withdrawals and the potential for capital growth, and they are often used for investing within trusts.They are simple, flexible and offer access to a wide range of asset classes

Key benefit:
Can provide a tax deffered income. Up to 5% of the original capital can be taken each year with no immediate tax implications.

Best for:
Medium to long-term growth
